Research topic

“Specialist for propensity score matching, modelling and solving Mixed-Integer-Programs which arise in bioinformatic problems of the group, especially on networks and machine learning, statistics. System administration of the group.”

Description of Research project

Developing an individualized treatment approach for antibiotics therapy for patients hospitalized with moderate community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). The role of macrolides, β-lactams and fluoroquinolones in CAP is controversially discussed. They aim to identify patient characteristics with which patients can be identified benefitting from a specific antibiotic therapy to implement this later into the clinical routine.

  • The iDrug4PanVir working group is a dynamic and interdisciplinary team comprising well-established
  • researchers at all levels in Jena, Frankfurt, and Heidelberg. You will be working on research projects in Bioinformatics with
  • a focus on:
  • Developing and using machine learning based analysis pipelines.
  • Participating in efforts related to dataset specification, collection, and curation.
  • Participation in broader bioinformatics and molecular virology research.
